This book is fantastic for anybody who is interested in the living legend! First off, this is a very interesting read. You hear the story that Green Bay didn't want told, and it's not just from Brett. Then you get into the fun part. Quotes about Brett. These are just plain fun to read... My personal favorite being on page 51. " ' Ron Wolf, our GM...asks him in a really serious tone, "Brett, I need to know, what specifically does this team need in order to make it back to the Super Bowl?" Without missing a beat Brett looks him straight in the eyes and says, "Ron, we could really use a water softener in the shower." ' ~Ryan Longwell

I Love Brett Favre/I Hate Brett Favre I Love/I Hate Ross Bernstein 9781600783760 Books Reviews

This proves to be pretty funny and interesting book on how people feel about Brett Favre. The book appears to be written just as the 2009 season was about to start so many of the feeling would have been greatly intensified due to Favre having a great season that year while beating Green Bay twice. So the love in this book would be greater for those who wrote. Interestingly, the other side of the book is about hating on Brett Favre where I come in. At the beginning of 2009 season, I dislike Brett Favre for his backstabbing ways and his defection to the arch rival, Minnesota Vikings. After the 2009 season, I positivity loathe Brett Favre as the lowest thing that crawls on this planet. I am sure that most folks who wrote in the "I hate" part will feel the same way. Now after 2010 season, we are back where we were in pre 2009 season. Favre just had his worst season ever, led the Vikings down to one of their worst seasons in recent decades...something I would called poetic justice. For the anti-Favre fans, seeing him leave the game with his tail tuck between his legs was a welcome sight.

One of the more interesting things I read in this book was when the author was comparing the "best of Favre moments" to his "worst of Favre's moments". It might be interesting to many Packer fans out there who are still leaning toward this arch traitor that most of Favre's great moments came in the regular season. Sad thing is, most of his "worst moments" came during the playoff!! (Even with the Vikings, he threw that final interception that reminded the Packers fans of that last playoff game against the Giants in January 2008.) Could he be one of the greatest play off chokers of all times?? Was that one Super Bowl win a fluke or did the team won despite of him?? (Is Donovan McNabb officially off the hook now that Favre been recongized as a greatest playoff choker??)

Those who defend Favre in this book states that as long as he can play, he should and personally speaking, I see nothing wrong with that train of thought unless you are purposely defecting to your former team's arch divisional rival. Only a village idiot would think otherwise. Favre could have play for any team really outside of the Packers' division but he really wanted revenge on General Manager Thompson for dissing him and discarding him after his numerous retirement announcements. That reflects a lack of class. The great irony is that when Favre goes into the Hall of Fame, he will go in as a Green Bay Packers, the team and its fans he purposely dissed, disrespected and discarded. I wondered how team and its fans will feel about him for all his betrayal. He might be forgiven after all, just look at Jane Fonda! I have been a Packer fan since days of Vince Lombardi and I can probably guess pretty well what Lombardi will think about Brett Favre.

Fun book overall but slightly dated in 2011.
Great book for a Favre fan... great both sides of the Farve fan club.
Highly recommend
Great book for those caught in the love/hate debate over Brett's moving to MN Vikings. Especially those who now live in Minnesota and hail from Wisconsin.
good
