Outlaw Silhouette Desire No 624 Elizabeth Lowell 9780373056248 Books

Outlaw is one of Elizabeth Lowell’s finest series novels. The setting and the characters are both intriguing.

Diana Saxton is an archeologist studying Anasazi culture. She is a professor and during the summer she has a plumb job, she will study ruins on her friend’s ranch. Diana is thrilled to discover even more about this native culture but she is deeply upset to be paired with ranch foreman Tenn Blackthorn who is her bodyguard at the remote site.

Tenn is a gentleman and he takes his job seriously. He is also astute and he recognizes early that Diana is incredibly uncomfortable in his presence. He is smart enough to realize that someone has hurt her and he does not pressure her or make her feel ill at ease.

Diana is surprised by her changing feelings for Tenn. He is so kind but he is also distant and she falls in love way too fast and wonders if her heart will be broken by Tenn who is gentle but also not one to be overcome by his emotions.

This story is never dull and moves at a steady pace focusing on the characters. Diana and Tenn both overcome their uncertainties and they have a tender passionate romance.

Outlaw Silhouette Desire No 624 Elizabeth Lowell 9780373056248 Books Reviews

Elizabeth Lowell's books pull you in, hook you, and you can't put them down until the last word. Love them!
My husband thinks I am nuts to reread books I have read before...but it is like hanging out with old friends. This is one of my personal favorites. I had the paperback, but now I read almost exclusively on , so I repurchased it. Great story, fast read with cowboys and smart women...all around fun.
I first read Outlaw in paperback when it was first published. This series is what got me started reading romance & Elizabeth Lowell is a queen when it comes to writing romantic fiction. I loved it then and was thrilled to see it in ebook format for my so that I could read it again. It's a beautiful thing when a book can touch your heart twice even after so many years.
If you like reading romance, you will enjoy reading this book. I especially liked that it had no violence. It was a fun read, perfect for relaxing while on vacation. I love reading Lowell's books because of her description of the setting which in this case is set in the Anasazi ruins of New Mexico.
This is the 2nd book in a series of 4 from E.Lowell. The current book is a re-release. I still have the original 4 books from long ago. I loved the story of Tennessee and Diana and these books got me hooked on Elizabeth Lowell. Tennessee Blackthorne is a "ramrod" at the MacKenzie ranch in the 4-corners area of Colorado. He is a ex-military/warrior who came back to the land to heal his spirit. Diana Saxton is an archeologist coming to the MacKenzie ranch to research Anastazi Indian culture. She is also a wounded spirit due to an abusive father and fiance that left her terrified of men in general. These 2 people meet and heal each other. A very powerful and loving story. I have read this book many times and won't forget Ten & Diana. ->buy the books & series<-
I read this when it was first released as a paperback, February's Man of the Month for Silhouette in 1990. I bought all four of this series (at the time there were only four) and the paperbacks have moved with me through many states and many re-readings. Now that they are available as books, I purchased them again and am reading them on my .

This book is just as good as I remember it being! I love Tennessee Blackthorn, Outlaw.
THE STORY Diana Saxton has come to the Rocking M to help preserve and document the Anasazi ruins on the ranch. Diana has a fear of men after she was raped by her boyfriend when she was younger. She has kept apart from men since. Tennessee Blackthorn is the ramrod of the Rocking M who is given the job of accompanying Diana to the archeological site. Ten knows that there is no future for him and Diana but he is complex man who is willing to help Diana recover her own sensuality.

OPINION There is something very dreamy and mythic about these classic Elizabeth Lowell books. The stories are not realistic and for some the language may slip into purple prose, but I enjoy the emphasis on the characters and their emotions and how the entire story shrinks to these two people. Ten and Diana are a wonderful couple and I especially liked that their relationship developed over time and was not resolved in a day or a week.

WORTH MENTIONING OUTLAW was originally published in the early 1990s as a category romance. It has some of the hallmarks of that time, but this book was unique then. The sensuality of this book far exceeds similar books of the time period.

FINAL DECISION I love this book. It has a dreamy, sensual feel to it. The story feels unreal in its prose, but that adds to the mythic quality of the story that appeals to me.

CONNECTED BOOKS OUTLAW is the second contemporary book in the MacKenzie-Blackthorn series. There is also a prequel historical. OUTLAW can be read as a standalone without missing anything.

STAR RATING I give this book 4.5 stars.
